Hole in the Roof

My beloved Saints were embarrassed in the pre-season game against the Ravens last week. Upon returning to New Orleans they were evacuated because of Hurricane Katrina.

The Super Dome in New Orleans survived the hurricane but 2 holes were ripped in the roof of the dome. I suspect this may cause some problems for home games in the first couple of weeks of the season.

Funnily enough the owner of the Saints hates the Superdome and has been threatening to move the team to another city if a new deal for a stadium isn't reached. I imagine he was hoping the entire stadium was destroyed! In any case, any team that goes through this must deserve some good karma...please!

The Great Thornhill Flood

Michelle's parents house back onto the Don River system which last week flooded. As you can see the water level covered both fences and was half way up the gazebo. The damage was amazing as the entire back fence was bent in half and the large wooden bridge in the back had moved about 3 feet.

Luckily this happened after the wedding since we had pictures taken here.

Fyker is Getting Hitched

So my good friend Brendan got hitched to his girlfriend Amy this week. I am very happy for both of them. We are heading to a campground to meet up Friday after work and enjoy a few celebratory beverages.

Congrats buddy!

HEL Weapon

Military laser brings 'Star Wars' reality closer

I imagine every test pilot is dying to try this out. In a war 20 years from now when the US decides to invade yet another country the CNN coverage will be quite cool with laser beams everywhere.

Where has Lance been??

So it's been over a month since my last post and given it's probably been the busiest month of my life it could be difficult to catch up.

In July I was married, spent 2 weeks in Greece on a honeymoon, returned to complete chaos at work, attended the longest Toronto Blue Jays game in history and went to see Cinderella in concert.

The wedding was absolutely amazing and it could not have went any better. I have pictures online if anyone would like to see them.

I'll detail more once I get some time to update the blog again.
