National Fat League?

Another complete waste of time study.

So NFL players are fat...duh. Here's the photo evidence.

Personally I an not a fan of BMI calculation and think it's seriosuly flawed. Let's look at Ricky Williams who was 5'10 and weighed 225 pounds during his pre-pot smoking days. His BMI was 32.3 which is considered obese. During those times., Ricky Williams could run a 4.5 40 yard dash and had approximately 7% body fat. Hmmm...doesn't sound too obese? The problem with BMI is it doesn't factor an individuals muscle mass.

So why would anyone spend research dollars conducting a study using BMI with known flaws to a group who spend more time lifting weight and building muscle than anyone else. Yes there are some overweight NFL players, but don't over-exaggerate the results of your study and apply a flawed formula to legitimate great athletes who are not overweight!

Joyce Harp and student Lindsay Hecht please leave my friend Grady Jackson alone..he's just trying to earn some bling to hit the Sonic drive-thru in his Escalade.
